A picture of Jon Krakauer the auther of Into Thin Air Question: If you had it to do over again, would you choose to climb Everest on your own terms, with your own team of friends, and without a professional guide service? Or would you write off the dream as illogical and stick to goals that don't demand such a high price in sacrifice and turmoil? If I could turn back the clock and do it over again, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't go to Everest at all. The risks were far greater than I imagined, the physical demands were far greater than I imagined, and the pain and suffering were far greater than I imagined. I was way out of my league on Everest and should not have been up there in the first place. For more questions like this one click here. Interview
